Import data

You can easily import your data to Saalz from XLS, XLSX and CSV spreadsheet files, allowing you to add leads, deals, organizations, people, notes and activities all at the same time. Before getting started, we suggest looking at our article here on how your data is organized in Saalz. It's important to understand how the data you're importing will fit into the Saalz data structure.

Getting yourself ready for an import

Before you import, you need to think about what kind of data you wish to add to Saalz and format your spreadsheet accordingly.

Are you simply trying to import a list of contacts (people and companies)? Do you want to import contacts and create open deals for each of those contacts? Do you want to import contacts, open deals for them and create activities for all of those deals as well? Do you want to import contacts, open deals for them, create activities and attach notes? Or maybe you want to open a bunch of new deals for contacts that already exist in Saalz?

Some spreadsheet formatting tips:

Remove formulas – We recommend using a fresh spreadsheet without any formulas in the import process. If you have a spreadsheet that uses formulas or data-linking to generate the contents of a cell, we suggest copying the data in your spreadsheet and pasting it into a fresh sheet without the formulas.
One tab per spreadsheet – Make sure your spreadsheet only has one tab containing data when importing. If your spreadsheet has more than one tab, you

Emails

Saalz offers two-way synchronization of your emails. You will be able to find the history of emails received and sent in your various files (contact, prospect, business opportunities, etc.) and will be able to send emails easily thanks to the email templates feature.

Synchronize your email

Saalz allows you to synchronize your email easily. We support a large number of providers such as gmail, outlookn, microsoft, yahoo, icloud and more. To start synchronization, simply go to the side menu Account settings > Email synchronization

All you have to do is follow the procedure and enter your credentials.

Compose your emails from the Email module

Once your email is synchronized with Saalz, you can send and receive emails directly from the application. To compose an email you can use our email module, or from the prospects, contacts, organizations files.

Custom fields and sections

| Note: This action is only available to admin users. The number of custom fields you can have depends on which plan you are on.

Most of your data comes with default fields but saalz is providing flexiblility with the possibility to create custom fields or section. With a custom field, you will not only have the means to document specific information needed to customize your data but also be able to organize and filter based on these fields inside the app.

Adding custom fields

You can add a custom field by going to Settings > fields mangement, and clicking on “Add custom field” or directly from a view page of any type of data. The field can be added under Lead/deal, Person or Organization.

From there you can select on which section you want to add a field. You have to give a name to your field, this name will appears in lead/deal/person/organization detail view You can also add custom fields from a detail view page

Leads and Deals

Differentiating Leads and Deals is important to keeping all of your data organized. In this article we will explain each to help you understand whether to add your clients ad a lead or a deal.

Leads

In the early stages of your lead generation process, you may find yourself with a lot of potential deals sitting in the early stages of your pipeline, not ready to move forward through the sales process but also not cold enough to be lost or deleted. This can cause a lot of clutter in your workspace and can distract you from focusing on the deals that need your immediate attention.

On Saalz, you can manually create Leads or directly import them to your lead inbox. Once you decide a lead is qualified enought, you can convert it to a deal and add them into your pipeline to start your sales process
